INTERMENT OF ASHES

The Bell Family has thoughtfully provided an overview of the four different interment sites of Sam's ashes.

• East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, Illinois. (Section F, Block 8, Lot 15, Grave 3) East Linwood Cemetery is located on the west side of Sam’s childhood hometown and has an adjacent burial site reserved for his mother.

• South Henderson Cemetery, Gladstone, Illinois.  South Henderson is a rural country cemetery in western Illinois where Sam’s father is buried.  Sam’s ashes are interned in the same plot as his father.

• Graceland Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois.  (Section "B", Lot 533, Grave #11) Graceland Cemetery is an historic Chicago cemetery in Sam’s adult hometown.  Sam’s grave is located a short walk from Wrigley Field off the corner entrance of Irving Park Road and Clark Street.  His ashes are located on a family site that is also the reserved burial site of his brother Monty & sister-in-law Wendy.  A monument will be installed in the Fall of 2023.

 

 

Spring 2024

 

• Winfield, Iowa.   Sam’s ashes will be interned on a family farm belonging to one of Sam’s Maternal Aunts.  This family farm is home to many of Sam’s fondest childhood memories.
